This year, LA PRIDE MARSEILLE will parade with the slogan "50 years of pride: and now ?".
Half a century after the founding riots in Stonewall, Pride Marseille is celebrating this anniversary with all of you with a look to the future, to build together the history and the mobilizations of tomorrow.
As part of these activist festivities, the IDEM collective offers you
LA PERFORMANCE DRAG (King & Queen)
from our friends from "HOUSE of BONER",
who will make several passages
this Saturday July 6 between 6 p.m. and midnight in the Longchamp park.
HOUSE OF BONER is a drag family based in Montpellier, founded by Robin des Doigts and Medusa Dickinson.
Robin des Doigts has always liked to perform his genre, to dress up occasionally. Then he discovered the drag king in 2015. He did his first workshop with Louis de Ville in Marseille. His personal and political approach is taking shape. After exploring his genre, he explores his drag, searches his king. This workshop allowed him to project himself on stage, to perform in public and to interact with drags. Then he took part in other workshops, drag nights. He continues to work on his king at home, his style, his personality, his make-up… He makes his selfie whore on Instagram, in short, the basis of all baby drag in short. Then, he moved to Montpellier at the end of 2017 and met Medusa Dickinson who turned his life upside down and hasn't stopped giving him boner since.
Medusa Dickinson, on the other hand, has always had a great love for drag and loves to slip into the shoes of an exceptional woman for a moment. She met Robin des Doigts shortly after the Montpellier Pride in 2018 where they did not meet even if she was majestic on the chariot of Aides. Then a few days later, Robin contacted her on Twitter and offered to go for a drink. She says "hmmmm I don't know, maybe". Three days later, they find themselves talking about drag and feminism over a mojito. In fact, they share the same vision and love of drag and alcohol.
A month later, they created the House of Boner. It's a house with a father and a mother… The House of Boner is above all a meeting, a connection between an approach to drag and a rather similar militant culture. Being a king and a queen feeds their respective drag a lot. As a king, it is sometimes difficult to exist and to be valued, especially by queens. In this HOUSE OF BONER, everyone has their place and Medusa leaves all the necessary space, including and especially on the drag scene.
HOUSE OF BONER is an inclusive and feminist space.
